BEFORE INSTALLING THIS CODE READ INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS!

This code creates a Rules System in which users must accept the forum's rules before they gain the ability to post on the forum.

Installation:

1. Create a custom page with the id: rules

2. Edit this page to display your rules. There are various ways to do this although I recommend using an HTML box.

IMPORTANT: On this page you must have this code:

<span id="lionbutton"></span>

3. Go to your General Settings by adding "/admin/settings/forum" to the end of your homepage url and scroll to the bottom. There you will see a section for Registration Settings. Fill out the field "After Registration Page" by inputting the url of the custom page you just created. This should be your home url followed by "/page/rules

4. This code requires the Yootil Library to be installed on your forum. Please download and install the plugin found here:

www.proboards.com/library/plugins/item/38

5. Install Lion Rules System plugin

6. You might want to head over to that custom page and accept the rules yourself so you don't suddenly lose a post you created ;)

You can easily do this without a plugin, waste of a key.

It is a good idea.. but can you provide a box that will create the new page and so on?

Works great! I was able to use a network of custom pages along with this to create a quiz of sorts which members would need to pass to post. Very versatile and useful!

Good one, but it should probably exempt staff members, who are probably already aware of (and even responsible for creating) the rules.
